The most potential Kingdom impact you possess is to your employees.
When employees are treated with love, with respect, and with honor, the Kingdom of Christ IS advancing. When your secretary is given a raise because her oldest son is now driving his own car, such generosity IS advancing the Kingdom of God. When grace is given to an employee who failed to meet a deadline, the hand of Jesus is giving that grace. And when truth is told, despite the potential cost to the organization, Christ is honored, and His Kingdom advances.
Nothing causes us to split our lives into the sacred and the secular more than refusing to see that we cannot fail to treat those on our staff teams with love, with honor, and with grace. Their paycheck is not our ticket to treat them in ways that devalue their humanity. And if, in our passion to change the world, we treat those around us with disrespect, then how can the authentic Kingdom of Jesus possibly be advanced?
We are called to create environments of grace and truth wherever we touch the lives of people. That is what we hoped when we started leading people.
